FSSI, an industry-leading critical document outsourcing company, announces the completion of the SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3 and HIPAA audits with zero exceptions. This includes compliance with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) attestation standards which were recently updated from the SSAE 16 to SSAE 18 Type 2 examination. FSSI has continuously met or exceeded the increasing security requirements and expectations demanded by the AICPA by following tight security and production controls for the services provided to financial services and insurance industries.

FSSI has committed to industry-accepted auditing standards for over 10 years, earning its first SAS70/SOC 1 (Service Organization Controls) compliance in 2007 and completing its first SOC 2 audit in 2016. Each SOC report represents a varying degree of compliance standards at the service organization level related to business processes and information technology:

  • SOC 1 establishes the requirements for business process controls related to financial reporting.
  • SOC 2 meets the growing needs of technology companies and is specifically designed for entities such as data centers, IT managed services, software as a service (SaaS) vendors, and many other technologies and cloud-computing based businesses. Within the SOC 2 framework is a comprehensive set of criteria known as the Trust Services Principles (TSP). The TSP describes the principles on which the operating effectiveness of a service organization’s controls are measured: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
  • SOC 3 is a general use report that can be freely distributed to the public based on the SOC 2 which can only be shared internally or under an NDA.

While few companies meet the requirements and commit the resources to complete all three SOC reports, FSSI recognizes the importance of ensuring the highest level of trust services engagement for its security-conscious clients. In addition, FSSI has completed a HIPAA compliance audit, which is beneficial for its healthcare-related organizations.

“Protecting our clients’ data is one of the most critical aspects of our business,” states FSSI’s CEO and President, Jennifer Dietz. “Our entire business is built on trust and confidentiality which is demonstrated through our commitment to the latest SSAE 18 standards. By meeting the stringent expectations of these rigorous audit examinations, we prove to our clients that we are committed to their success. We like to position FSSI as an extension of our clients’ internal security and compliance teams, acting as a trusted partner that is vested in their best interest. As a result, many of FSSI’s secure processes help elevate our clients’ performance on both internal and regulatory audits.”
