Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)

The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs.

WBENC Certification validates that a business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women.

To become certified, business owners undergo a thorough vetting process. Because of this, WBENC certification is considered the gold standard for women-owned business certification and is accepted by more than 1,000 corporations, in addition to some states, cities, and other entities.

Through certification, women-owned businesses gain access to:

  • A vast network of support, including targeted business opportunities for certified women-owned firms
  • Increased visibility in corporate and government supply chains
  • Education and development programs to spur growth and increase capacity
  • Networking and mentorship opportunities with thousands of women entrepreneurs and those who support them

Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance (WBEA)

Headquartered in Houston, the WBEA serves over 94 counties in Texas with scholarship and mentoring programs, networking activities and educational opportunities designed to spark growth and new business opportunities for members and their companies.

The WBEA organization has grown rapidly since its inception with over 750 certified WBEs, representing 9 billion in revenue and over 40,000 jobs created. It has become one of the nation’s leading certifiers of women-owned businesses by way of its network of corporate sponsors, supplier diversity programs and dedicated WBEs.
