{"id":6895,"date":"2019-01-28T15:38:48","date_gmt":"2019-01-28T23:38:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fssi-ca.com\/staging\/?post_type=press&#038;p=6895"},"modified":"2021-11-15T09:37:56","modified_gmt":"2021-11-15T17:37:56","slug":"fssi-partners-with-kids-around-the-world-to-give-back-with-30000-healthy-meals","status":"publish","type":"press","link":"https:\/\/www.fssi-ca.com\/staging\/press-room\/fssi-partners-with-kids-around-the-world-to-give-back-with-30000-healthy-meals\/","title":{"rendered":"FSSI Partners with Kids Around the World to Give Back with 30,000 Healthy Meals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>SANTA ANA, CA &#8211; January 2019 &#8211; FSSI partnered with Kids Around the World this holiday season for its annual service project, with employees working together to compile meal packets to provide 30,000 nutritious meals for hungry and malnourished children worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kids Around the World strives to impact the lives of children by providing its OneMeal mobile food-packing program as well as building playgrounds in low-income communities around the world. The finished meal packets are shipped and distributed to children in 18 different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees at FSSI divided into groups of 12 people, with each person taking a unique task to combine rice, lentils, vegetables and vitamins into a packet, which was then sealed and labeled for distribution. Working under the direction and guidance of OneMeal Event Manager Rich Swisher, the team completed their goal of 5,000 bags, each with six meals included, in just 1 \u00bd hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a rewarding experience for the FSSI team to work together to make such a visible difference for hungry children around the world,\u201d said Jennifer Dietz, FSSI President and CEO. \u201cThe employee feedback shows that the FSSI team loves to serve, with everyone saying how special it was to spend this time to make an impact on others\u2019 lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continuing with its tradition of focusing on FSSI\u2019s \u201cPassion for Service\u201d core value, a service project is selected each year for the annual December all-employee meeting. In describing the importance of this core value, Dietz said, \u201cOur core value of \u201cPassion for Service\u201d relates to FSSI\u2019s passion for serving our clients as well as encouraging each other to serve in our communities and around the world.\u201d Passion for Service is the favorite core value of FSSI\u2019s five core values, which define and exemplify the culture and environment of FSSI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Swisher said, \u201cFSSI&#8217;s core value of \u2018Passion for Service\u2019 is more than an ideal, it truly reflects the company and its wonderful workers!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1994, Kids Around the World, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has also provided playgrounds and teachers, in addition to healthy meals, to communities in need. Through teamwork and a single mission, they strive to positively affect children\u2019s lives in countries around the
