The managing board of the 28-member Imaging Network Group (INg) announced the election of FSSI Chief Executive, Jon Dietz, to be their new president, replacing DataMatx CEO Harry Stephens, who has held the position since 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
INg is a 20-year old international, not-for-profit, executive consortium, comprised of service bureaus associated with the print, mail, and electronic document delivery industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will be Dietz\u2019s first stint as president, following his company\u2019s four years of active membership. During his two-year term, he will lead board meetings and oversee annual conferences designed to equip, educate and support INg members and partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m grateful for this opportunity and for the board\u2019s vote of confidence,\u201d Dietz says. \u201cAs president I plan to build on the foundation established by my predecessors. I will seek to ensure that meetings and conferences offer real opportunities for growth and education.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dietz predicts a roller coaster ride for the industry in the year ahead, including: transitions with the USPS; market pressures for greater innovation and cost cutting; and technological advances that could change the nature of how most companies currently do business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Increasing regulation and growing encroachment from the industry\u2019s largest players provide common threats for all INg companies, yet Dietz emphasizes that smaller size has advantages, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you look at where all the innovation is coming from, it is the INg companies who are nimbler and quicker to market than the mega-companies who are leading the marketplace,\u201d says Dietz. Ongoing cooperation, Dietz suggests, will help the group succeed through this transition period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause we compete in the same space, we\u2019re all affected by the same macro forces. By continuing to openly share insights, information and experiences, I\u2019m optimistic we can meet and overcome the challenges ahead of us,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
