FSSI has completed another zero-exception SSAE 16 Type 2 (SOC 1) compliance audit, confirming that, for the period covered, the print-mail outsourcer’s critical processes met or exceeded specific performance objectives for:

  • Physical and environmental security
  • Information security
  • Data communications
  • Print, mail and ePresentment operational controls
  • Access controls

The most comprehensive audit to date

In addition to a risk assessment review and familiar tests of network vulnerability and social media, auditors this year conducted an intensive penetration test designed to expose hidden risks and threats, confirm adherence to standards and best practices, and verify FSSI’s ability to respond to potentially catastrophic cybersecurity incidents. As it has for many years, the company passed with flying colors.

“This year’s audit was our most comprehensive ever,” notes company president, Jennifer Dietz. “FSSI’s consistency in meeting increasingly rigorous testing reflects our commitment to helping clients in regulated industries safeguard data and meet critical business objectives. Because of our emphasis on security and process optimization, I’m confident that FSSI can satisfy any audit requirement a company may have.”

About SSAE 16 and SOC report types

SSAE 16 superseded SAS 70 on June 15, 2011 as the audit standard for service organization auditors. SSAE 16 was adopted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in an effort to establish a more uniform reporting standard.

“Service Organization Controls” (SOC) refer to three types of engagements or reports typically given to a company’s – a.k.a. “user entity’s” – internal auditors and/or regulators. The SOC 1 is a report on controls at a service organization relevant to user entities’ internal control over financial reporting; prepared in accordance the SSAE 16 Type 2 and is considered by many as the “Gold Standard” for its reporting depth and detail.  Visit the SSAE 16 website or AICPA.org for more information about SSAE 16 standard and SOC report types.
