FSSI Completes SAS 70 Type II Audit for 2011

Production quality controls and security at the statement/print-and-mail solutions provider again meet stringent industry standards.

SANTA ANA, CA-based FSSI, one of west’s the largest, independent woman-owned providers of outsourced statement services, has completed its third consecutive SAS 70 Type II audit.

First introduced in 1992, the SAS 70 (a.k.a Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70) has long been a universally accepted controls-auditing methodology for service organizations like FSSI. The result re-affirms that the 30-year old company’s production processes continue to meet strict quality and security standards.

“Requesting this yearly review demonstrates FSSI’s ongoing commitment to data security, accountability and regulatory compliance, all of which are vitally important to our clients’ success,” says company president Jennifer P.W. Dietz.

Transition to SSAE16
In June, 2011, the SSAE16 Attestation (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 – Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization) was added to enhance the current SAS 70 standard. The change is intended to bring U.S. companies up to date with new international service-organization reporting standards, the ISAE 3402. Dietz says FSSI’s next process audit will be conducted under the new enhanced standard.

“Though SSAE16 procedures may differ somewhat from the SAS 70, we fully expect that FSSI’s quality and security practices will enable us to meet or exceed all necessary requirements,” Dietz notes.
